What stays on your computer

Your songs, recordings, ideas, sessions and license live in a folder on your computer. There is no account and no cloud copy. Nothing is tracked, and nothing about how you use the app is sent in the background. Usage counts exist only inside a problem report, and a problem report goes nowhere unless you send it yourself.

What goes online

Three things take a connection. Each one carries your internet address, as any connection does.

Activating Pro. Entering a key activates it on this computer. Freeing a computer or removing the license updates your license’s list. Both happen when you click, and the window shows what it sends first: the key, a random id the app made for this computer, the computer’s name, and the app’s version. The server does not keep your address.

Sending feedback. Help → Send Feedback posts your words only when you click Send. What will be sent lists every field before you do. The next section says what we receive and how long we keep it.

The update check. Once a day, unless you turn it off, Sonetta Studio reads one small file listing the latest version. The comparison happens on your computer. Nothing about you or your work is sent. The switch is Check for Updates Automatically, in the app menu.

Feedback

When you send feedback, we receive what What will be sent lists: your words, and the app’s version, your tier and whether you are on a Mac or Windows. Your email comes too if you give one, and a problem report if you tick it.

A problem report holds the app’s log, its version numbers, how many songs, ideas, sessions and recordings you have, and how you use the views. Never the songs themselves. The log blanks the path of every file outside the app’s own, since a file’s name can be a song’s title.

We keep problem reports for 90 days, then delete them. Your email is removed 12 months after our last reply, or 12 months after your message arrived if we never replied. The fingerprint we use to spot a message sent twice is deleted after a day.

Your internet address carries the message. We use it only to slow down abuse, and our database never stores it. Our host, Vercel, keeps it in its request logs for [N] days. Feedback is stored with Supabase.

Buying a key

Buying happens on this website, in your browser, through our payment provider, which handles the payment, the tax and the receipt. Your key arrives by email. The app never sees your payment details. More in the pricing questions →
